Iwi Representatives | Strategy and Policy Committee - KCDC

Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki is seeking an Iwi Representative to sit on the Strategy & Policy Committee with the Kāpiti Coast District Council. This is a key governance role where you will help ensure the voice of mana whenua is present in decisions that shape our rohe.

The Iwi Representative will:-

  • Represent and advocate for Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki

  • Contribute to Council policies, plans, and strategies

  • Bring a mana whenua perspective into decision-making

  • Work alongside councillors, staff, and stakeholders

  • Attend meetings, review materials and contribute to discussions and decisions

Some meetings may be outside normal hours

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong connection to Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki

  • Confidence to represent and advocate in governance spaces

  • Ability to think strategically and consider long-term outcomes

  • Good communication and relationship-building skills

Governance experience is helpful but not required.
