Iwi Representatives | Strategy and Policy Committee - KCDC
Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki is seeking an Iwi Representative to sit on the Strategy & Policy Committee with the Kāpiti Coast District Council. This is a key governance role where you will help ensure the voice of mana whenua is present in decisions that shape our rohe.
The Iwi Representative will:-
Represent and advocate for Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki
Contribute to Council policies, plans, and strategies
Bring a mana whenua perspective into decision-making
Work alongside councillors, staff, and stakeholders
Attend meetings, review materials and contribute to discussions and decisions
Some meetings may be outside normal hours
What we’re looking for:
Strong connection to Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki
Confidence to represent and advocate in governance spaces
Ability to think strategically and consider long-term outcomes
Good communication and relationship-building skills
Governance experience is helpful but not required.
