Kaumatua Digital Skills

Every Tuesday, Otaki Library
Morning sessions: 10am – 11am | Afternoon sessions: 1pm – 2pm

Our 8-week programme aims to provide a safe, comfortable, and encouraging space where kaumatua feel supported to give things a try, especially those who are unfamiliar with or even fearful of the digital world.

This course focuses on the basics of using smartphones, laptops, and computers. Each week alternates between smartphones and laptops/computers.

Topics include:
- Basic device functions
- Internet basics & safe searching
- Photos and media
- Control/settings
- Social media
- Identifying scams
- Online safety
- Using common apps

We approach each session with patience and kindness, allowing everyone to learn at their own pace without pressure.
