Kaituitui Kaupapa | Kaupapa Coordinator
Hours: 30 hours per week | Fixed Term (6 months)
Salary: $38ph - $44ph.
Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki is seeking a Kaituitui Kaupapa | Kaupapa Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of kaupapa-driven events and engagements across our organisation. This role plays an important part in ensuring our hui, wānanga, and community events are well organised, well supported, and reflect the values and tikanga of Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, calm under pressure, and confident working in a fast-moving, people-focused environment. While experience in events and coordination is important, equally important is how you work with others - your ability to collaborate, adapt, and contribute positively within a kaupapa Māori setting.
While experience is valued, we place just as much importance on how you work with others and how you fit within our kaupapa.
You will support the coordination and delivery of events and engagements across Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki, working alongside kaimahi, partners, and whānau to ensure kaupapa runs smoothly and reflects our values and tikanga.
Your mahi will include:
Supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of hui, wānanga, and community events
Maintaining visibility of upcoming events and supporting clear communication across teams
Coordinating event logistics including venues, catering, registrations, and equipment
Working with kaimahi to ensure events are well organised and delivered in line with kaupapa objectives
Supporting engagement with whānau, partners, and external facilitators
Assisting with event communications and information sharing
Maintaining accurate event documentation, timelines, and planning records
Contributing to post-event reviews and continuous improvement
Providing flexible support for urgent or last-minute kaupapa as needed
The experience and skills you bring are important, but equally important is how you work with others and align with our kaupapa.
Ideally, you will bring:
At least 2 years’ experience in events, coordination, administration, or a similar role
Confidence working within kaupapa Māori, iwi, or community-focused environments
Strong organisation and time management skills
The ability to adapt quickly when priorities change
A calm, practical, and solutions-focused approach to mahi
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
This is a role where no two days are the same, and where flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to support across the organisation are just as important as technical expertise.
If you are someone who enjoys working in a values-driven environment and contributing to the bigger picture of hapū and whānau wellbeing, we would love to hear from you.
If you are interested in this role, please apply with your CV and Cover letter by 5pm, Wednesday 24th June 2026.
We will be reviewing applications as they come in and may appoint prior to the above application closing date if we find the right person.
