Rangatahi Workforce
Rangatahi Workforce is a kaupapa supporting rangatahi Māori into paid work experience, training, and clear pathways into employment, education, or apprenticeships, which aims to provide hands‑on community mahi, mentoring, and wrap‑around support in a culturally safe environment.
During this 8 week programme, they have the opportunity to experience a range of mahi across our kaupapa, including:

👵🏽 Working alongside our kaimahi in the kaumātua programme
🔨 Hands-on building mahi
🗂️ Introduction into administration
🚁 Drone training
📣 Communications
Our rangatahi learn so much in such a short time. If you have rangatahi aged 16–19 years old, we would love to hear from you.

Kaumātua IT Digital
TERM 3 INTAKE BEGINS TUESDAY 28th JULY 2026.
Every Tuesday, Otaki Library
Morning sessions: 10am – 11am | Afternoon sessions: 1pm – 2pm
Duration: 8 Weeks
Our 8-week programme aims to provide a safe, comfortable, and encouraging space where kaumātua feel supported to give things a try, especially those who are unfamiliar with or even fearful of the digital world.
This course focuses on the basics of using smartphones, laptops, and computers. Each week alternates between smartphones and laptops/computers.
Topics include:
- Basic device functions
- Internet basics & safe searching
- Photos and media
- Control/settings
- Social media
- Identifying scams
- Online safety
- Using common apps
We approach each session with patience and kindness, allowing everyone to learn at their own pace without pressure.

Te Raukura Rangatahi
Our next intake beings Wednesday 29th July 2026.
Every Wednesday 3:15pm - 5pm, during school terms.
Taumanuka, 29 Health Camp Road, Ōtaki Beach.
Te Raukura Rangatahi is a weekly rangatahi-led space to connect, create events, and grow leadership by bringing forth their ideas and being a voice for local rangatahi within their community.
Under the founding principles of Ūkaipōtanga, Kaitiakitanga and Rangatiratanga, it is a space created for learning, growing and leading across all dimensions of Te Whare Tapa Whā.
This kaupapa aims to support:
Rangatahi with strong identity
Improved mental and emotional wellbeing
Active and engaged rangatahi
Leadership development
Educational engagement
Rangatahi-led community initiatives
If you have rangatahi aged 14–17 years old (Year 10 - Year 13), we would love to hear from you.
Community Kai
Our Community Kai kaupapa is all about bringing people together through free kai, connection, and community support. Each month, usually the last Thursday of Every Month, we pop up at different locations to provide free burgers for whānau and create a safe, welcoming space for everyone to come together.
Bring the Tamariki down for a play, shoot some hoops, enjoy a kōrero, and connect with others in the community. Our team is also available to help connect whānau with local support services and opportunities where needed.
Whether you come for the kai, the company, or just to get out of the house — everyone is welcome.
Te Ara Hauora
Our next intake starts Friday 31st July 2026.
Every Friday morning 7:00am - 8:30am, during school terms.

Start your day strong on Fridays 7am-8:30am. Te Ara Hauora is an 8-week Rangatahi Fitness & Wellbeing kaupapa Māori programme to support and strengthen hauora through movement, kōrero, and fun challenges, using the Te Whare Tapa Whā model.
Rangatahi to discover new ways to strengthen your tinana, hinengaro and wairua.
